There is something peculiar about Polly Tips. She’s one spoonful short of a tea party; with her staccato speaking, frantic physicality, and tiny teapot guests. Polly believes 'everything can be solved with a cup of tea', but how far does this fixation take her when she is no longer alone? Could trouble be brewing in the teapot? Can she hide away forever with her trustworthy teapots and spectacular stories?

Polly Peculiar blends physical theatre and unnerving, retold fairy-tales together to create a "quirky, engaging, imaginative" show. Pour yourself into her world and learn about the teapot darkness she inhabits and indulge in her curious and intriguing nature.

When it seems time has caught up with Polly Tips, how will she make sure to keep everyone happy and blooming with peculiar positivity? How long has she truly been at her tea party, and how long have the guests been sitting there?

Us and Men

Rose and Emma (EmmaBourkeTheatre) are very different people. One of them is asexual. The other is not. One's non-binary. The other one is pretty sure she’s a girl. One loves physical theatre. The other one hates it. They do have one thing in common: a strained relationship with their birth gender. So naturally, they decided to make a show together.

Putting our relationship with masculinity under the microscope. What makes a man? What makes a good man? What kind of man would we want to be? Combining physical theatre, spoken word and splashes of comedy, culminating in a first-time meeting of Vincent Van Gosh and Ben Brose.

Us and Men performed with Saucy: Worcester as part of The Vesta Tilley Festival and in The Talleyrand as part of SCRATCH with Bang Average Theatre.

Jury Room of Souls is a comedic, interactive, and intimate performance experience. You have been summoned to assist an argumentative jury of angels and demons in judging Jenny Lind’s deceased soul. She’s led a complicated life, and after 135 years the jury still cannot decide whether she should be sent to heavenly Paradise or hellish Inferno. It doesn’t help that they cannot stop bickering about irrelevant nonsense and get side-tracked constantly. It may be up to you then, the newest member of the jury, to decide where Jenny Lind’s soul ends up once and for all!

My search to understand my sexuality has been a journey and Queer-y puts that adventure on full display. A queer, comical performance in which I re-write the lyrics to a musical number, dress up as my mother and father and try on so many labels only to end up more lost than ever! Will I arrive at my destination, fully understanding myself?

This is the digital version of my solo performance: Queer-y, which explores my LGBT+ identity and coming out story. After I made this piece, I was commissioned to create an on stage adaptation for a variety show called Saucy: Queer Performance Worcester Style. This is just the start for Queer-y, as I will be developing it further into a longer, more detailed on-stage performance!

This Moment, filmed in the 2020 lockdown was inspired by my research into an Opera, La Bohème, by Giacomo Puccini's and the 1994 adaptation film: Rent. The project also looked into the history of Voguing; I choreographed an energetic piece depicting the moment we all break out of our mundane existence in a dream-like dance, for just a minute...

Whilst I am more versed in performing onstage, this piece allowed me to try a new medium of video performance, with my mother as my cinematographer and confidant. I loved making use of what I had to hand in my surroundings to create an engaging experience, using my bed, stairs, hallway and blanket!
